L&T Begins Work on Delhi Metro Silver Line’s Underground Section

[ad_1]

Larsen & Toubro on August 12 officially launched construction work on underground Package DC-09 of Delhi Metro’s 23.622 km Silver Line which will connect Aerocity – Tughalakabad via 16 stations.

After building a guide-wall over the preceding weeks, the team lowered the first reinforced cage to form the diaphragm wall (D-wall) around Chhatarpur Station’s box, just east of the operational Yellow Line’s Chhatarpur Station.

L&T was awarded 65.1 km Delhi Metro Phase 4 project’s Package DC-09’s contract in March 2022 valued at Rs. 1428 crore with a 42 month deadline.

Their 6.51 km section, with twin-tunnels smack-dab in the middle of the Silver Line, will connect Kishangarh Station (chainage 5356.285) with a cut and cover ramp (chainage 11867.000) west of Saket G Block Station. It includes 4 stations at Chhattarpur (interchange with Yellow Line), Chhattarpur Mandir, IGNOU and Neb Sarai.

I hear Larsen & Toubro will be deploying 3 tunnel boring machines, instead of 5 mandated by DMRC, all sourced from China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Corporation (CRCHI). Confirmation is awaited, stay tuned.

Back in June, Afcons Infrastructure lowered their 1st D-wall cage for the Silver Line’s 6.981 km package DC-07 at the Airforce TBM Launching Shaft near Sangam Vihar Station – see details & pics.
