6 Bidders for Bangalore Satellite Town Ring Road’s Package 1

6 firms have submitted bids to construct 35.766 km Phase 3 Package 1 of the 280.8 km Bangalore Satellite Town Ring Road (NH-948A) project.

This 4-6 lane partially access-controlled under construction highway around Bangalore will have an alignment connecting 12 towns of Dobbasapete, Doddaballapura, Devanahalli, Sulibele, Hoskote, Sarjapura, Attibele, Anekal, Tattekere, Kanakapura, Ramanagara and Magadi.

It is being built in 3 parallel phases and involves construction of NH-948A and realignment of existing NH-648 (old NH-207). Phase 3’s Package 1 lies entirely in Tamil Nadu and will connect Belagondapalli with the Karnataka – Tamil Nadu Border, south-east of the city.

National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) invited tenders for this package’s construction in December 2021 with a Rs. 1045.13 crore estimate and 2 year deadline. Technical bids were opened on Thursday.

  • G R Infraprojects Ltd.
  • KNR Constructions Ltd.
  • Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd.
  • Montecarlo Ltd.

Brief Scope: Construction of STRR (West side) NH948A Balagondapalli (Tamil Nadu) to Karnataka or Tamil Nadu border from km 144.170 to km 179.936 in the state of Tamil Nadu on Hybrid Annuity Mode under Bharatmala Pariyojana

The bids have now been sent for technical bid evaluation which can take a couple months to complete. When that is done, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor.
