Three firms – SC Agarwal, Pee Pee Mandal Projects and Texmaco Rail and Engineering – in October submitted bids to install track-work at Delhi Metro Violet Line (Line-6)’s existing Sarita Vihar Depot for augmenting additional maintenance facilities.

This contract (Package DT-16) of Delhi Metro’s Phase 4 project is part of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC)’s strategic plan to repurpose Sarita Vihar Depot for stabling and maintaining thirteen 6-coach Alstom trains of the upcoming 23.6 km Silver Line which will connect Aerocity – Tughlakabad via 16 stations.

DMRC had invited bids for this small value track-work contract in September 2023 with a Rs. 9.44 crore estimate and 540 (1.47 year) deadline.

Brief Scope: Supply, Installation, Testing and commissioning of Ballastless/Ballasted Track in Sarita Vihar depot for Augmentation of Additional Maintenance Facilities for Standard Gauge Corridor of Delhi MRTS Project of Phase-IV.

All 3 bids are currently undergoing technical evaluation which can take a couple months to complete. When that is done, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor.
