4 Bidders for Ambala Ring Road Phase 2’s Construction Contract

4 firms have submitted bids to construct 55 km Ambala Ring Road project’s 22.524 km Phase 2 after National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) opened technical bids today.

This 6 lane access-controlled greenfield expressway’s alignment in Haryana will connect Bhari village on NH-152 (being upgraded to expressway standards) with Kapuri village on the under construction 121.786 km Shamli – Ambala Expressway.

NHAI had invited tenders for its construction contract under Bharatmala Pariyojna (BMP) in mid-January 2023 with a 2 year deadline.

  • Gawar Construction Ltd.
  • G R Infraprojects Ltd.
  • Ram Kumar Contractor Pvt. Ltd.

Brief Scope: Construction of 6 lane Greenfield Ambala Ring Rd starting from Jn with Shamli Ambala sec of NH344GM near Kapuri Design km 18.226 and terminating at Ismailabad Ambala Sec of NH152 near Bhari Design km 40.750 under BMP in Haryana.

The bids have now been sent for technical evaluation which will take about a month to complete. When that is done, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor.

Ambala’s 55 km Ring Road essentially comprises of 3 road projects or phases:

  • 15.0 km Sadopur to Bhari (4 lane north-western section through Haryana & Punjab; constructed and visible in the map above)
  • 22.5 km Bhari to Kapuri (6 lane southern section through Haryana; this post!)
  • 17.5 km Kapuri to Sadopur (6 lane north-eastern section through Haryana & Punjab; under construction by Montecarlo as part of 121.7 km Shamli – Ambala Expressway project’s 37.386 km Package 3)
