Afcons Begins Work on Delhi Metro Silver Line’s Underground Section

[ad_1]

Afcons Infrastructure has started barricading works for constructing the eastern section of the Delhi Metro’s 23.622 km Silver Line which will connect Aerocity – Tughalakabad via 16 stations.

This exciting development comes just weeks after the firm was awarded Phase 4 Package DC-07’s Rs. 1669.20 crore contract by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

This 6.981 km section will connect Sangam Vihar Station’s east-end and Sarita Vihar Depot via 3 stations at Maa Anandmayee Marg, Tughlakabad Railway Colony, and Tughlakabad where it will form an interchange with the Violet Line’s station built in Phase 2.

Afcons will be constructing a total of 8 tunnels for which DMRC requires a minimum of 5 tunnel boring machines (TBMs) to be deployed.

Here are some snaps shared with me by RS_Live from YouTube. Check out his video embedded below for some nice visuals:

In the coming weeks, we’ll see other pre-construction activities picking up along the line’s route such as geotechnical investigations, GPR surveys, utility mapping & diversion, trial trenching works etc.
