12 Bidders for Itanagar Airport’s Construction at Holongi

[ad_1]

I’ve started tracking major airport contracts as well ’cause why not? 😀

Twelve construction firms have submitted bids to build the city-side and pending air-side infrastructure of Itanagar Airport after the Airports Authority of India (AAI) opened technical bids this afternoon.

The capital of Arunachal Pradesh currently doesn’t have an airport of its own and the closest to it is Lilabari Airport (also known as North Lakhimpur Airport) in Assam, located about 70 km away. Itanagar’s new airport is being developed at a 4,100 square metre site about 15 km south in Hollongi, right at the base of the Himalayas – view satellite imagery.

Per AAI’s recent tweet:

This New Greenfield Airport will be equipped to handle A320 type aircraft, having a capacity of 200 flyers during peak hours and will consist of 5 check-in counters and 2 parking bays. The project is to be completed at an estimated cost of ₹645.63 Cr. The new airport terminal, spread across 4100 sqm., will be an energy-efficient building with rainwater harvesting system. It will have a glass façade offering the panoramic scenic view of the mighty Himalayas.

AAI re-invited bids for its construction for the 3rd time in February with an estimated cost of Rs. 160.85 crore and completion deadline of 15 months.

The bids have now been sent for technical evaluation which can take a couple months to complete. When that is done, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor.

Besides Itanagar Airport, I’ve also started tracking Rajkot and Dholera airports’ contracts. Bid submission deadlines for those are coming up on April 15 and 22, so stay tuned for similar posts! Drop a comment or send me an email if there are any other ongoing / upcoming airport contracts I should track.

Over the past 2 months, I’ve created new information pages for 3 airports. These are linked up on the menu bar under ‘Misc.’ > ‘Airports’. Check them out for contract information and designs:
