NKC, CDS & Evrascon Win Delhi-Amritsar Expressway’s Work

NKC Projects, Centrodorstroy India and Evrascon – MKCIL JV today emerged as the lowest bidders for constructing packages 4, 5 and 9 of the roughly 650 km Delhi – Amritsar – Katra (DAK) Expressway after National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) opened financial bids.

This 4-lane greenfield project starts at KMP Expressway north-west of Delhi, and will be expandable to 8 lanes with provision of service roads in the future. Phase 1 involves the construction of a 397.7 km greenfield expressway between Delhi – Ludhiana – Gurdaspur and a 99 km spur connecting Nakodar – Amritsar. 

NHAI invited bids for these 3 packages in October and November 2020 with a 2 year deadline. Package 4 lies within Haryana, Package 5 is mostly within Haryana, while Package 9 is entirely in Punjab.

Brief Scope: Construction of four-lane Greenfield Delhi Amritsar Katra Expressway from Junction with Jind Karnal road NH709A near Alewa to Junction with Ambala Kaithal Hissar road NH152 near Kharak Pandwa village Km 91.400 to 120.250 on HAM under BP in Haryana

  • NHAI’s estimate: Rs. 1132.28 crore

  • Technical Bids Opened: February 12, 2021
  • Bidders: 15 (all 15 technically qualified)
  • NHAI’s estimate: Rs. 1404.13 crore

DAK Expressway project’s greenfield section consists of 15 packages – 12 on the 397 km Delhi – Gurdaspur section and 3 on the 99 km Nakodar-Amritsar spur.
