26 Bidders for Delhi Dehradun Expressway PH2’s Packages 1 & 4

26 firms have submitted a total of 43 bids to construct civil packages 1 and 4 of the 210 km Delhi – Dehradun Expressway‘s 119 km Phase 2 (EPE – Saharanpur) section after National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) opened technical bids today.

This 6 lane greenfield expressway will be developed in 4 phases. Financial bids for its 32 km Phase 1 (Akshardham in Delhi to Eastern Peripheral Expressway) were opened in December 2020 to reveal Gammon India and Gayatri Projects as the lowest bidders for its two packages. I haven’t heard or read about ground work having started yet.

Its 119 km Phase 2 lies within Uttar Pradesh and connects the Eastern Peripheral Expressway near Baghpat with Latifpur village at the Saharanpur Bypass through 4 civil packages ranging from 25.5 to 37 kms.

NHAI had invited bids for all 4 packages in January – each with a 2 year construction deadline. Earlier this month, 27 bidders submitted 49 bids to build Packages 2 & 3.

Package 1 (EPE Junction – Lohadda)

Brief Scope: Development of 6 lane access control greenfield highway of Delhi-Saharanpur-Dehradun EC under BMP from Junction of EPE near Khekra Design Chainage 0 to Design Chainage 27.000 (Vill.-Lohadda) on EPC Mode (Package-1)

Package 4 (Khyawari – Latifpur)

Brief Scope: Development of 6 lane access control greenfield highway of Delhi-Saharanpur Dehradun economic corridor under BMP from Design Chainage 82.000 Vill-Khyawari to Design Chainage 119.068 (Vill-Latifpur at Saharanpur Bypass) in UP on EPC Mode (Package-IV)

• Length: 37.068 km
• Bidders: 21

The bids have now been sent for technical bid evaluation which can take a couple months to complete. When that is done, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor for each package.
