Delhi Metro Invites Bids for Magenta Line’s JICA Packages

[ad_1]

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) this week invited bids for two small system-related packages of the 38.235 km Magenta Line’s new 2.03 km underground extension between Vikaspuri Park Shaft – Krishna Park Extension Station – Vikaspuri Ramp.

These two are among 44 packages of the 65.1 km Phase 4 project that will be specifically funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and this development indicates that a basic agreement on the loan parameters has been reached between DMRC and JICA. Without that and the JICA’s go-ahead, DMRC would not have published these notices.

Magenta Line’s Vikaspuri Park Shaft – Vikaspuri Ramp underground section – view Phase 4 info & map

HCC – VCCL JV is constructing this section (Package DC-05) of the Magenta Line which is being extended by 28.92 km in Phase 4 from Janakpuri West to RK Ashram. They started lowering parts of their Terratec Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) S86 in October and I hear they are currently awaiting power-supply to the Vikaspuri Park Shaft for commissioning the machine.

With this development, I imagine there will be a flood of new tender notices getting published in the coming weeks.

Out of the 44 JICA-funded packages, I’m most looking forward to the last 4 civil packages (1 for Magenta Line and 3 for Silver Line) listed below, train-control and signaling package (DS-06) for the Silver Line and the 288 coach (RS-17) rolling stock package.

Civil Package Line
Package DC-05: Derawal Nagar to RK Ashram, 7.46 km underground section with 6 stations Magenta Line
Package DC-08: Aerocity to Kishangarh, 6.11 km underground section with 4 stations Silver Line
Package DC-09: Kishangarh to Saket G-Block, 6.88 km underground section with 4 stations Silver Line
Package DC-07: Sangam Vihar to Tughlakabad, 6.477 km underground section with 3 stations Silver Line
